Debi dilated her first baby, from 0 to 5 in 3 hours and 5 to 10 in just over an hour. She squatted all 7 lbs., 14.5 oz and 21.5 inches of her daughter into the world with 3 deep birth breaths in less than 35 minutes---all under self-hypnosis! She was calling family and friends within an hour; eating and walking around within 4 hours. Home 14 hours later, her husband scolded her for sweeping the kitchen floor …but she felt that good!

Debi has helped many couples in New York,  New Jersey and Long Island learn HypnoBirthing® to have the birthing experience they created in their sessions. Her most important credential is, however, her personal experience as having learned the method first as an expectant mother with all the fears, feelings, doubts and concerns that one faces when traveling the journey of pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood.   So impressed she chose to become a Certified HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Educator and was trained by Kathy Sanders, R.N., B.S. Master Hypnotist of The HypnoBirthing® Institute.     She expanded her understanding of hypnosis by studying Clinical Hypnotherapy and became a National Guild of Hypnotists Certified Hypnotist. Along with a fellow CHBCE, Debi hosted The Certified HypnoBirthing® Fertility Therapist Program [led by Lynsi Eastburn of Eastburn Institute of Hypnosis of Colorado] and offers private classes in HypnoFertility. She has attended Tom Nicoli's {of New England Institute of Hypnosis and Dateline 2003 Weight loss Hypnotist fame} training seminars and her training in Pediatric Hypnosis was with Don Mottin [Director of Mottin & Johnson Institute of Hypnosis], author of "Raising Your Children With Hypnosis", who has trained over 1000 hypnotists all over the world and has hypnotized over 50,000 individuals himself. Debi is also a member of Office & Professional Employees International Union and The National Guild of Hypnotists.   As Co-Founder and Treasurer for her co-op's playroom Debi lobbied for support and now the playroom is fully funded by her co-op's board along with dues from members within 10 months of opening. As a member of Holistic Moms Network, New Yorkers for Vaccination Information and Choice, La Leche League and The HypnoBirthing® Nest along with supporting the Doula Network of Long Island and The Coalition for Improving Maternity Services among other groups, Debi provides a variety of resources to her clients in their sessions.   Debi also has over 25 years of experience in the Hospitality Industry and is a Certified Meeting Professional. She worked closely with Marie [aka Mickey] Mongan, the founder of the HypnoBirthing® Institute, planning the First Annual International HypnoBirthing® Conclave which took place September 2002 in Arizona.   Debi has been a guest speaker at The Ross School's Center for Well Being in East Hampton, Long Island. She volunteered her planning skills as Logistical Chairperson for aTLC's Summit 2: Healing a Nation's Trauma held in San Jose, California. She has also been on News12 Long Island Naturally with Mary Mucci and was interviewed for Ricki Lake's documentary "The Business of Being Born" which was screened at Tribeca Film Festival last year and opened in limited cities on earlier this year. Debi volunteered her event management services at the NYC preimere.    Before Elizabeth Seton Childbearing Center closed in 2003, Debi organized free informational sessions about HypnoBirthing® with Hypno Doula Suzanne Fremon and Birthing with Love Melissa Love, held at the center. Currently she supports the New Space for Women's Health --a project to create a center for birth and wellness in New York City--by offering her expertise in events. She is reaching her goal of creating a woman wellness = baby wellness center based on Long Island, thus her office is now at Touch of Health Wellness Center in her hometown of Huntington. A few years ago {along with her husband, daughter, midwife and doula} she home birthed her son, just after midnight on the last full day of summer. Her commitment is to see hypnosis become a standard option in hospitals [as Lamaze currently is], instead of being regarded as an alternative.
